Digital Painting in progress
Hello everyone! Today was a really busy day. I spent most of the time today packing stuff, my wife and I will be moving soon. I didn't have time to paint much today so I decided to post the painting in progress. Today's post shows the way I start painting digitally. I usually work with two layers; one for the drawing and another one for the colors. I start pretty loose with the colors, blocking everything and covering all the white areas. Then I add another layer for the drawing, and from there I keep adjusting and redrawing back and forth until it's done. Towards the end of the painting I delete the additional drawing layer, I just use it as a guideline, to check proportions and stuff. Tomorrow I'll show the finished version.
Thanks for your patience.
See you tomorrow.

Quick painting of Mika
I decided to paint a friend of mine who went back to Japan a couple of months ago.
I painted from a photograph, I took the photo a while ago and I used a fish-eye lens. I clicked while she was still speaking (sorry about that Mika).
I painted it digitally using Photoshop.
Hope you enjoy it.
Thanks for stopping by.

Quick digital study
Hello everyone! I decided to do some digital painting today (trying to get the rust out of the old gears), this digital study took me about 50 minutes to complete. I need to work on my speed, I'm not that fast when it comes to Photoshop (I'm still trying to memorize the shortcuts).
Hope you enjoy it.
Feel free to come back tomorrow for another digital study.
See ya!

Head study
I enjoy traditional painting. What motivates me to paint is the feel of the brush on canvas, to squeeze the paint out of the tubes, and the act of mixing the colors. I like using oils but sometimes it's hard to deal with the smell of turp.
I painted this one some time ago, hope you enjoy it. It was kinda hard to work with two different light sources but I kinda like the way this one turned out.
Oil on canvas.
I know it's not a fresh update but I've been really busy these past days.
Thanks for your patience.

Finally finished.
Hello everyone!
Yesterday I finally finished the digital painting I was working on.
I submitted this one to Ballistic Publishing; they were accepting submissions for their next book, EXOTIQUE 2. They will be reviewing and selecting all the submitted artwork within the following months I think, and the best ones will appear on EXOTIQUE 2.
Maybe they will like mine, who knows?
Anyway, I hope you like the painting.
Thanks for stopping by.

Bad mood
Hello!
Today wasn't a very productive day for me - I'm still working on that digital painting I posted yesterday - I was having fun until my computer started acting weird. At a moment there I thought I was going to lose all my work. Thankfully I had enough time to save and backup everything. PCs man, I don't know why I still bother buying them.
Anyways, here is a quick drawing (colors and text added digitally) that express what I was going through today.
See ya tomorrow and thanks for stopping by.

Work in Progress
This is the digital painting I've been working on for the past two days, it's not done yet, I still have a long way to go but I like the way it looks so far.
I paint a little, watch some Tv, paint a little more, go out for a coffee, paint some more, sketch...
Although the deadline is thight I don't want to stress myself out with this one, I want to enjoy the act of painting. I don't have much experience with the digital medium, that's why I take so many breaks, I dont' want digital painting to be associated with struggle and stress. I just want to have fun while painting it.
Hope you enjoy it.
Thanks for looking.
